During the African Union Executive Council, which preceded the Assembly of Heads of State and Government scheduled for 5-6 February, the following topics were discussed: addressing the devastating effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the growing threats of insecurity from conflict and terrorism, unconstitutional changes of governments in African states and the continent’s socio-economic development.
